love bowhuntin, and i'm suprised there's so many traditional archers outthere, i've got an impala recurve, what's your opinion on this bow?? glad to be here and hope i learn alot

Glad to have you ! I dont know much about the impala but if you shoot it well keep on shooting . You can and will upgrade as you get more into it .

thats the bow I convinced a friend of mine to buy because he wanted to be more like me.

the more you get into it the more you will be upgrading to much better bows!

welcome to trad gang friend! I have shot the impala for 3 years now. It is a good bow for the price.I wouldn't consider myself a beginner but the impala is with in my price range. It does what its supposed to (assuming your talking about the Ragim impala), granted not the best bow on the Marget but it is advertised as a no frills bow witch is exactly what it is.

Welcome!!!  I have shot the Impala.  They have (had) one at the Boy Scout camp where I was the shooting sports instructor.  It was a good bow.

What draw weight did you get?

45-50 lbs, definitly not big enough but i need to learn how to put all my arrows in a quarter at 60yards before i worry about getting a bigger bow, my dad used to shoot alot and i'm about 1000 percent sure he could show robinhood or anyone else up, he used to shoot 100 lb recurve. no joke. he shot competition and i'mtrying to match his reputation lol wish me luck

There is nothing wrong with a 45# - 50# bow. That is plenty of bow to hunt with. You will want to shoot arrows that are 8 - 12 grains per pound of bow weight. A heavier arrow (12 grains per pound) will help quite the bow also.

I shoot a 45# Black Widow and my arrows are 580 grain total weight. With an accurately placed arrow I can drop a Whitetail.

Glad to see that you are focusing on accuracy. Consistency is the key to stick bow shooting and light bow will allow you concentrate on your form. Keep us updated with your progress. I want to see some footage when you start putting your groups in a quarter at 60 yards.
