Question for ya. What time of the year do the deer drop there antlers in the northwest part of the state? My wife wants to do some shed hunting.

Should be losing them now and on thru march. Ive been out and the fields where I normally see a few. Ive not seen a deer with set. I live in southern Arkansas close to Pond Creek refuge.

I agree, they should be dropping them now. The poor mast crop caused some areas to start dropping horn early this year.

miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where

I haven't seen any horns since early January in Crawford/Sebastian County area.

saw 3 bucks with horns last saturday & a buddy of mine saw about a 120" 10 pnt saturday also,east-central part of the state.

AR RidgeRunner

I just checked my trail cams last Saturday after having them out for a couple weeks. I had pics of (2) bucks that had already shed. I'd say now would be a good time to start looking. I'm in NW AR.

Turkhunter

A co-worker seen 5 bucks in his yard just outside Eureka Springs on Sat. 4 still had antlers and 1 had 2 big bloody spots on his head.  He said that one was a big one, bigger body wise than the 120" 8pt that was beside him.
