The shelf material I use usually does a good job of keeping the arrow on.If not,I'll leave a slight space between the shelf and the window(riser) when putting on both the shelf and side plate, this usually allows the arrow to sit in a slight dip or cradle. You can also put a thin piece of material under your shelf material towards the outside of the shelf to slightly raise it to keep the arrow on.

If all else fails,I screw my bow holder in a little crooked, pointed downward slightly, and it helps to hold the arrow on........

Rubber band and a wooden match works. Match stick is on the off side of the riser, and the rubber band wraps around the arrow. When you draw the arrow, the rubber band pulls off the match and falls out of the way.

I think I found this one on Dean Torges site.  Use a toothpick or matchstick with a rubber band.

I like that toothpick Idea thats awsome!

You need to put silencers on the rubber band. Limbsavers is working on a special one for the toothpick as we speak.  :smileystooges:

It is hard to describe but this is what I do...I take a small rubberband, about the size of a quarter or slightly larger.  Put that on the bow limb, obviously before the bow is strung.  Nock the arrow.  Hold the rubberband against the bow, grab the opposite side of the rb and wrap it around the arrow and then under itself.  The rb will hold on to itself until the arrow is drawn.  The best part is that you do not leave toothpicks and rbs laying around!  The rb stays on the bow.  Hope this makes sense.

Here is what I have been using for 30plus years.I make my own but 3-rivers sells them.I use a strip of velcro on riser and holder so it is easy to remove if needed.Kip

Thats slick Kip.Is that piece on the bow made of leather?Does the band wrap around the bow or just the arrow and then under itself?

jimbob91   It is woodgrain plastic a piece off of an old T.V. about 2 1/2" long and 3/4"or7/8" wide at one end to a dull point. The band goes around the arrow and over the point,as you draw it falls off very silent.I use a G.N. Q.D. quiver and put a display hook for a pr. of gloves on the top bar of the quiver and with a screw in hook the bow with an arrow nocked works perfect.Gene thanks my first attempt with a Helle Rob sent me the dropoff bunbinga from my bow so I made a t-handle allenwrench and the file handle unfinshed in the pic. and the knife handle.Kip
