Can anyone tell me a source for tapered laminated birch shafts?

I personally haven't found a source for tapered birch.I luck into some that other people have tapered,that's usually how I get mine.

I'd be interested in a reliable consistant source for TAPERED Lam Birch shafts myself.

I tapered my own lam. birch shafts this year for hunting arrows.  There was an article in Traditional Bowhunter sometime this past year (I'm at work on break so I don't know the month right off hand) - and I followed those instructions and they turned out pretty well. So if nothing else, they aren't too hard to do by hand and the only tool required is a small block plane.  If nobody else chimes in with it by the end of day, I'll try to post the exact issue that article is in tonight.

Setup 2 pieces of aluminum (right angle cross section) on a wooden board, the one end a little wider than the untapered portion of your shaft, the other end the desired taper width.  Put on sandpaper (100 grit works pretty well) with either glue or double sided tape.  Chuck the shaft in your electric drill, run the drill at a medium speed and slowly feed it into the channel made by the 2 pieces of aluminum.  It works pretty well.

I've done this with regular birch and I'm sure laminated will work too.

I've done a lot of arrow making over the years but I haven't ever done my own tapering.  I probably have all of the machinery in my shop but I think I'll order some this time.

I made up a taper jig similar to what Jason Jelinek described above, except I used 12" mill bastard files instead of sandpaper. I cut the tails of the files off with a cutoff wheel so the files were the same length as the 10" pieces of aluminum angle. I epoxied the files to the aluminum angle.
