Just curious...for all of you who sort and spine shafts for what ever reason; what's your favorite spine tester?

I now use the one made by 'cupcake' on this site-it is way better than the regular on I had before.

I've been using an Adams for the last few years--works real good.Been thinking of getting one of those Ace tester's you hang on the wall(takes up much less room--and they're pretty accurate)

I like my homemade protractor type, the buildalong is on this site somewhere  Maybe not the prettiest one out there but it gets the job done.  I have about four bucks in materials into it.  That left me a lot of money to buy shafts.  Surprisingly accurate too.

I use the one I made from plans on another site. It was a pdf and downloaded the scale I used....all in all...cost me nothing but time. PM me if ya need to know more...

Can anyone post instructions for making the scales, or a template along with size? That's the part that's holding me up.  I'd appreciate it.

I started out to make a spine tester for myself.



When I posted the photos Trad Gangers made me offer them for sale.  Honest, they made me.

The scales on the latest version read wood, aluminum and carbon on one scale.  There are three measurement ranges that allow 20-200 lb. spine range.  By picking the right range one-pound increments can be measured.  Check out the sponsor classifieds if you are interested.
