labs, nice matching set there.  Which of the two do you like better....Mike

Thanks Mooseman. I've been shooting Widow recurves exclusively since the late 1980s so I shoot the PGA a bit better than the longbow. The longbow is a sweet performer though, and not much heavier than a handful of arrows. Both are 52#s at my draw and both are a joy to shoot.

Selecting a quiver is a VERY personal thing, dependent on the use of that quiver and your own tastes.

I've never ever liked a bow quiver for hunting 'til the advent of the new, super light quivers like the EFA and Shrew - now I only hunt with a bow quiver for all game - well, 'cept maybe bunnies and squirrels, them critters can make ya run through a dozen arras in no time.  :D

For roving I'll use a bow quiver backed up with lotsa extra arras in a side or back quiver.  The reason in using a bow quiver for field shooting is the need to keep the bow "feel" the same as when hunting - so my 4 arra bow quiver gets three arras, which simulates my hunting.  YMMV.

I modified my Boa with an old arrow w/broadhead installed.  I cut the old shaft to length and then superglued the the head into the foam and the shaft to the middle arrow gripper.  The assembly is still light weight, but i don't have any twisting of the quiver when taken off of my bow.

I have two EFA quivers and if you follow the directions given with the quiver then you shouldn't have any problems.....Easy on easy off! I like the looks and size of the EFA quiver but I know opinions very ....Keefers <")))><

I second the EFA.  Just wish I had more of them so I could stop having to take them on and off...

I love my Selway slide ons for my recurves but I just can't decide for my longbow. I'm using a Skookum right now and I think I don't like it either. I may buy a slide on for the LB, but I'm about ready to get rid of all quivers on LB and go with a hip.

Labs4me: That quiver is cool! Looks a lot better than my Kwik-3's.

To answer the original question...

On bows with riser inserts, I use a Kwik-3. Other than that, I've used the Great Northerns for years now. Excellent quivers, both the quick-detach and strap-on. I also just picked up a Kanati 4-arrow quiver and I like it already.

I like a bow quiver on a recurve, but on a longbow it doesn't look or feel right to me. It's really just a personal preference thing. So far, the best I've used is the Mini Cat Quiver.  I also recently bought a G. Fred Asbell quiver that goes over the shoulder, but I haven't tried it out yet.
