I'm in the market for a new bow this spring and it seems that every week a different bow gets my attention. This week, I saw the all camo version of the Dalaa. The Hoyt Gamegetter II seems to be always on my mind also. My question is, is the Das that much better to justify better than 2 times the price? I'm not cheap, but, no need to break the bank if it's not necessary. Thank you for any input.

I shoot a custom stick bow that was 8x my old production bow. It didn't make me 8x a better shooter in fact I can't say it made much differance at all. Point is how do you put a price on something like this. I like the bow. I knew what it cost when I bought it, I got what I paid for. Good Luck

Depends on a few things.

How long do you draw? The Dalaa can be set up to perform better at much longer or much shorter than a standard 28 inch.

Do you want a few sets of limbs? The Dalaa uses ILF limbs. They are available in three lengths and a lot different weights for $100-600+.

My draw is just a hair over 28". As far as extra limbs goes, the Hoyt is 62", just like my longbow. Again, I'm not trying to be cheap. I also understand that the Dalaa has alot of adjustments for tiller and draw weight. I intend to shoot whichever one off the shelf, no sights. I shoot split finger, so the tiller adjustment shouldn't be a huge deal, I guess. They say the Das is very quiet, but I think with the Das limb pads and some Bow Hush and about a 600 grain arrow the Hoyt would be also. Does that help?

Hoyt sells a plethera of competition limbs as well that will bolt right on the GM riser. They aren't camo or anything, just have to do it yourself.

Does the Gamegetter II accept Standard ILF limbs?

How much will the Hoyt be after you get the DAS limb pads?

I have the Dalaa but I'm not sure I have shot the Gamegetter II. It may have been the first model. It didn't draw nearly as smooth as my Dalaa at my 30 inches.

You can swap the bushings and put Hoyt ILF limbs on the Gamemaster risers. The DAS limb pads are under $20 last I knew.

They are decent shooters and priced well, but usually the standard limbs are marked under the draw weight and if you add all the quieting and ILF limbs you start getting very close to the price of a Dalaa.

If you are only going to buy one and can afford it the Dalaa is much better IMO.

I just gor a Gamemaster II. I put felt under the limbs and on the string grooves. Put a reguler set of silencers and shoot 570 grain arrow. The bow is no louder than any other recurve actually quieter than most I`ve shot and is very forgiving.If I had plenty of money to spend I would have got a DAS ,but since I did`nt I got the Hoyt used and saved a bundle and don`t feel cheated. I tuned it a bit and shot 3" groups at 18 yards bare shaft. I can live with that.RC

RC could kill a pig with a 2X4 strung with baling twine.

One of the main reasons that the DAS bows are such good shooters is the fact that they use ILF limbs...and you have a wide range of prices and quality of those types of limbs.  As V13 said, you can get a DAS conversion kit very cheap and then find a good deal on some ILF limbs and you have the best of both worlds.

I'm a DAS fan, but you might wait and try the new Hoyt Dorado as an alternative.  A shorter riser at 19" that falls right between the DAS and the GMII.  Or, you could try a warf for very little money and be pleasantly surprised if you don't need all of the options.
