Black Mountain Sheepeater Spirit or Obsidian would work for you and smoke an arrow to boot.

hands down!

There is a review on the Sheepeater on my trad review pages at  www.peteward.com.  It will do what you want and it will surprise you when you shoot it.
These are real nice shooting bows.

Another vote  here for Brents Sheepeater bows....great shooters, and little sacrifice for such a short package.

Another vote for the Bear Kodiak Magnum at 52" and $400 retail (new) Shorter still is their Supermag at 48" and $330, new at Cabelas.  The Grizzly is 58" at $300, as well. I have all 3 and love them.

Wow, will the supermag really accomodate a 29in draw?  That's what I pull and I'm really wanting a short bow for treestand hunting.

I draw 28.5 inches, with no real problems. That particular Bear model really shoots sweet for me. I have a Bear quiver attached, and it appears to make no difference in how it shoots. I put a fastflight string on mine, but didn't notice much of a difference.

Are the new Bears more stable that the Old short Bears?
Pete W that was a great review.  Thanks a million.

Hands down Rivers Edge Recurves, Arroyo 54"

It thinks its a 60" bow. Not to mention FAST too.

Yup, Z has it. The RER Arroyo at 54"s will smoke and it does shoot like a much longer bow. Very quiet too! Best short bow out there in my opinion! Shawn

I'll third the 54" RER Arroyo. Just got mine today. It's a looker and hopefully will shoot as well as the demo model I shot last spring.
I'll be shooting it tomorrow and will take some chrony measurements and pictures and try to post the information tomorrow evening some time.

Shawn Leonard

Bucksnort what are the specs.? Shawn

Sheepeater for sure. At 48" it's plenty short and you can pull it the 29" your talking about. I saw Mark pull one about 31" in February of 07.
I pull somewhere between 27 and 28 and shoot three under. The bow is light in the hand and FAST!! It's the ultimate blind bow, handy in brush, good out of tree stands. I'd Highly recommend the Sheepeater Spirit!

Shawn, specs on my new 54" Arroyo are 50#'s @ 27".
Birdseye Bocote belly and back veneers, riser is all Bocote with two thin Cocobolo arched stripes. Very simple bow, but it is a looker with all the Bocote goodness.   Can't wait to shoot it tomorrow.

No Doubt Shrew or Bob Lee Dark Archer I have rons personal 52 inch bow and a bob lee both great bows and both super nice people to deal with!!

Zmonster

Hey Bucksnort101,

Thats what my 54" Arroyo looks like too. All Bocote, but mine has Bamboo action wood with Boo stripes in the riser. Its simple yet Beautiful. Gotta love that Bocote....
