I'm looking for a little help with some bareshafting results that I keep having with my recurve.  I shoot a Chekmate H2 51# @ 28.  I draw 26".  I bareshafted some 1916 cut to 28" and they shoot weak and low with 145 gr. heads.  I also bareshafted some 2016 cut to 28" and they are almost perfect right and left but continually shoot low at 20 yards.  Further out and they hit the dirt in front of the target.  I have set my nock at 1/2" above to 1/8" above and still get the same results.  However, both shafts shoot like darts fletched with broadheads.  Should I be satisfied with the good flight with broadheads and move on? According to O.L.'s website I should lower my nocking point, but that just doesn't seem to help.  I get the same results.  Advice please.  Thank You.

Some people, quite honestly, just can't get good nock high/low arrow flight off a shelf. Try a brush rest and I think you'll see a immediate improvement.

If you are hitting good with broadheads, I don't think you could ask for better.  That is the most important thing.

Go to the Trad Gang sponser list and look up Foxfire Archery. Then look at Kelly's tips. He doesn't believe in bare-shafting and while I don't agree with that entirely, what he says makes sense.  The point is, as stated above by Steve O, if they're flyin' straight and hittin true with broadheads, I wouldn't worry about it.

Check your brace height, it can make a difference.
