My Cayuga measures #33@28", or about #36 at my drawlength. Looking for some ultralight arrows for 3D shoots to get the speed up a bit, without getting to low gpp. Whats can I shoot to get the highest speed and flattest trajectory? Make and model of arrows will be appreciated.

Gold Tip 15/35 or Carbon Express 70 for carbon.

1716 for aluminum...or maybe even 1816 at longer.

Gold Tip Ultralight 600's are lighter than the GT 1535 Trads.  I use them cut to 29" for 3D with my 40# bow.  Left full length they should work fine at your longer draw length and lower weight.  Probably use them with either 50 or 75 grain points.  You'll need to experiment to get the best point weight.

I got to shoot one of those new fangled Hoyt Santori bows recently. At 35# his arrows were 700 spine Vaps. But his draw is shorter than yours. He had some of those real pointy glue in target pts. on them as well.

My arrow choice for my 38# ILF bow are the Victory VAP .600 spine. They're cut at 29.5" BOP with a an 80 grain tip. These arrows are 5.5 gpi and weigh in at 263 total finished arrow weight.

I´m currently shooting Gold Tip Trads weighing in at well over 400grains, so anything lighter will be an improvement. My local shop has the GT Entrada in stock, so I guess those will be the obvios choice. I reckon I should take the 2 hour drive and visit him for a test shoot, maybe a chrono check. .166 OD shafts. They're great for long distance shooting in the wind.

What kind of insert, or do you use glue-in points?

I have an old recurve I really like that is about 34 to 35# at my draw length. Currently using Axis Trad 600's since they fit my other heavier bows, but I am switching to standard black colored Easton Axis shafts, which Easton makes in a 700 size.  Expect better results with some 125 grain points on the 700's than with the 600's I have now with 75 grain brass inserts plus points up front I use now to make them shoot well.  I just change points on the 600's for the rest of the heavier bows.

Interesting... I ran some number through Stu Millers calculator, and if I build out my strike plate 1,6mm or 1/16", I am spot on for a Gold Tip Entrada 700 cut to 30" with a 12gr insert and a 100gr point. Gives me an arrow 293gr and a 8,4GPP. Not sure of my bow, though. I have sent a request to BearPaw as to how low I can go I arrow weight.

Even more interesting... If I use the specs of my GT Trads in the calculator, defining the arrow as "other", I get a much lower dynamic spine than using the specific GT 1535 Trad option. Why?

Well...I got an answer from Bearpaw in Germany, and they say that anything over 5GPP is safe. That means I can build an arrow weighing in at under 200gr total  :eek:  That should be a fast one...
