Pika and whip, your grip preference standard or classic?
I'm liking the look of the classic. I've held the standard, but that classic looks good!!!

JRY309

Personal choice for shooter but I prefer the Classic grip!

mikolay87

I prefer the locator grip. All of my Toelke's have them. I do have a lynx with the locator handle wrapped in leather.

I have the standard with the thumb rest on my whip.  Doesn't matter if it's wet or wearing gloves when it's cold my hand goes to the same place every time.

I have shot most of Brad Hawkins (Biathlonman's) Toelke's....and I would have to say I like the standard with the thumb rest the best. Especially on the Pika....that is one sweet little bow. Brad will be along to chime in in a bit im sure....he has lots of Dan's bows.

Locator but I haven't shot the other style on a Toelke, but I have shot the other style on other bows and don't like it

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

Longtoke

I love the locator/ thumb rest grip dan makes. One off the best feeling grips I have ever shot

1/4 away

I prefer Dan's locator grip as well it just feels great in my hand.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Guss

I haven't had the chance to try the Classic, but I can't imagine a grip any better than the standard on the Chinook and the Pika...

Keep in mind Davey, Dan can wrap the thumbrest grip in beaver or leather also if you want.  Both grip shapes are good.  The thumbrest is obviously super repeatable, but if you just need a locator the Classic is fine.  He can even do a "faint" thumb "ridge" if you like.

Classic for me. I've had both and I just couldn't get to where I felt as comfortable with the thumb rest. I don't have real big hands and the classic just fits me better. My Super D with the classic grip is the most pointable bow I've owned and I've had some dandy's.

Shadowhnter

I've never had a nicer, more repeatable grip in my hands then Dan's Standard grip with thumb locator. That is one sweet bow....i'll pass mine on to my boys when I die.

Fletcher

I like and have the Classic.  It's what I'm used to and the thumb rests always feel uncomfortable to me.

Biathlonman

I prefer the standard but the classic is actually very similar.  I'd be willing to bet most people couldn't tell the difference if they are both either "naked" or leather wrapped and the tester was blindfolded.

Beavertail wrapped standard might be the best of both worlds,  but I've not had Dan do one of those for me yet.

lone hunter

Dan made me a whip with the D-bow grip. Now have three with that grip and going to change my other whips to this also. For some reason it just seems to work for me.

Tradcat

Whip but wished now I'd have ordered the Classic

tzolk

I prefer Dans classic grip personally. Don't get me wrong about the standard thumbrest grip - it is very very nice! When I carry the bow by the handle, I don't like the thumbrest in the way. Ive had both and they shoot equally well. Now what Lonehunter is talking about, with the Whip having a Super D grip, sounds very interesting!

Thanks for everyone's input.   :campfire:  I'm leaning toward a T/D Pika w the classic grip.

Shadowhnter

Whatever you choose, Dan and Jared wont let you down. All their bows are nice. I've heard much good on the Pika.

Biathlonman

Go standard on the Pika, you won't regret it.
