so my budget? I'm willing to pay for a good one...Tolke Whip Eh? I'll check them out. Someone asked specs of what i would like...60" 60-62@28...Id like a 2pc I think as I do some fat bike travel to get in to some of my hunting locations...I had a 2 pc BW sold it few years back and immediately regretted doing it. So now I'm looking to fill that void. Before I buy another BW I wanted look at other bows first. Is Toelke, Shrew, Big Jim, Liberty at Denton Hill? Isn't there another bow similar to shrew? I think it was made by someone close or that used to be affiliated with the shrew...am I crazy? hahaha thanks everyone for the input. I really appreciate it, Fred

Save your money, and avoid a long wait. Give Randy at primaltech a call! One of the best longbows I've ever shot! He is newer to the market and I think he only has a Facebook page right now. P.m. me if you need any information

I wouldn't recommend black widow longbows, they stack and they're overpriced. The shrew was an incredible bow but you'll have a long wait. I also give Dan toelke a hard look

Never measure the mountain until you have reached the top, then you will see how low it is.

I will have to disagree with Michael about the BWs stacking. I owned and shot them for years and as long as you stay within their recommended draw lengths they do not stack. Same thing for all bows is that if you draw it past the designed max draw they will stack.

Yes they are pricy but as with most things you get what you pay for.

Having said that there are a lot of good bowyers out their and some of them have been listed above.

You can spend your dollars with them and be rest assured that it was money well spent.

Their has been a couple of Toelke Whip and Pike bows mentioned and while I have never shot a Whip I do own a couple of Pikas and if the whip is as good as the Pikas ( some would say better because they are longer,i wont argue with them)you cant go wrong.

The pikas are a little short for a lot of shooters but if your draw length is 29" or less and need a close quarters bow they are shooting machines.

Take your time as they all cost money and it is real easy to fall into the other guys bows are more accurate and before long you have spent a lot of money and are still looking for the magic bow.
Get a good quality bow that fits you and learn to shoot it.
good luck
I like wood bows. They fit my style and mentally simple self

I would recommend going to a local traditional archery shoot/festival. You can test drive a ton of bows and meet a large amount of venders. Each bow is unique as is everyone's preference. But in saying that, I personally have a Big Jim's Buffalo bow and Thunderchild and love both of them. I would also look into a Toelke Pika or whip, centaur, stalker, etc.

I'll say it again... TOELKE WHIP !!!

Java Man is the bow I think you're thinking of that is similar to the Shrew.  I just bought an Elkheart at the bow show in Kalamazoo in January, and love how it shoots!

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

The wait for a Whip or Pika is around 8 to 10 weeks. Dan also has some bows in stock.
Take the long way around.
