Hey guys big jim will be building my thunderchild here soon and i was wondering if i should go with a one piece or 2 piece and wanted to see your suggestions.

Honestly, I would do two piece.  It's the same physical size as his one piece designs and while you may not break it down often, the ability to can be very nice.  You could pick up a small hard sided AR rifle size case and make a travel kit for it that's self contained and easy to pile luggage on top of.

Like an idiot, I ended up selling all my take downs. I'm left with all one pieces, I travel by air every now and then to hunt. I have a hunt coming up in Alaska and I sure wish I still had a TD.   I'd go with the two pc

I used to only use 1 piece bows. After buying a takedown now that's all I prefer because I have had limbs blow up . At least with a takedown you can buy just the limbs.

I wish I had a TD bow, just in case air travel ever comes into play on a hunting adventure.

I have a 2 pc featherhorn, similar td system to Big Jim.  Gor me it's the perfect bow.  Looks like a one piece when together, solid, sleek design.  My vote it to have at least one two piece in your stable.

Ofcourse with a 2 piece bow.Blowing a limb up is just like blowing up the limb of a 1 piece.

Anyways had a 2 PC Thunderchild and a 1 PC.I would get a 2 piece if money was not an issue.I like 2 PC T.Ds.If you need a 2 PC you got it!

They will shoot the same and look the same essentially.

I'd do a two! I have a one currently and love to shoot it, but it's a pain in the backcountry!

I'll go against the grain here and say I have no need for a take down. I had a 3 piece a number of years ago because everyone around me said I should go that route....and not once did I ever break it down. So in essence, it was a waste of my money. A take down is heavier, and more expensive in many cases. I like a bit lighter bow, and extra money to buy arrows or gear, so I prefer a 1 piece...its more practical for me. The real question is, do YOU need a take down? I dont fly, and I dont travel long distances to hunt, so really there isnt much purpose for me to go with a take down. You need to simply decide what is the most practical for your situations and go that route. But regardless of the seemingly lopsided post here about the matter, lots of archers prefer a 1 piece.

TD is more versatile for me. Check with Big Jim, I believe the takedown sleeve may make for a larger grip. Grip will make or break a bow for me as a keeper.

To each their own I don't have a need for a take down since my broke butt ain't flying anywhere for hunts.

Nothing beats the elegant lines of a one piece for me. But I don't travel to hunt as well.

Going one piece when you have the option for two is like the argument to not pay for 4 wheel drive just to save money. All good until you need it.

Not to mention it will up the resell value.
