New guy here currently shooting a 58" cut to center longbow 40# at 26" my draw length   .i think I would like a shorter bow for blind hunting  cut past center if so what would I be giving up

Sounds like you need a Centaur!

Haven't had any experience with extreme short longbows, but in general I've found that short recurves seem to work better than comparable length longbows.

I think the elkheart longbow can be made in a 52" configuration.


I am really enjoying this 54" Pika I recently acquired,.. very smooth and stable... I wish I would have got one long ago.

I have had a 52,54 and 56 Classic Hunter. Although I prefer the 54" they all are great! As far as giving up anything from your​ current bow if you go with a Shrew not only will you not give up anything you will gain performance and quality!

I shot Biathlonman's 54" pika a while back and was really surpised at how smooth and well it can shoot. Great option to look into. I'm looking into getting one myself.

52" Toelke Troll  or 54" Toelke Pika....both are awesome shooters..!!

You wont go wrong with a Toelke.

Two Tracks Ambush is really quick and quiet.  One of my favorite bows to shoot irregardless of length.

Love my 54" Elkheart. My turkey bow this season, until "Hope" arrives.

You can always try an asian-style horse bow.  The come in around 48-55".  Paired with a thumb release, you'll gain a couple inches of draw length and have as close to a mechanical release as traditional archery gets.  Plus, you can shoot either side of the bow.

Ditto what Praire Drifter said. I own a multitude of recurves and longbows from Fedoras to Flatlines and my 56" Maddog Praire Predator shoots as good as any of them.

A 56" Thunderchild is my shortest bow for now but I have a Crooked Stic Short Curve on the way. I think the Short Curve can be made in 52 and even 50 inches. I know this is not a longbow but I think it will be very efficient and will work well in tight cover or in a blind. Can't wait to get it in my hands!
