Nicely crafted cabin,Ron.

Kildeer, that was my camper and it was a late 70's "Aliner" predecessor,I think the manufacturer was "Spartan". It was the only camper of its kind I had ever seen. All plexiglass and aluminum and folded down/set up in about 2 minutes. I sold the camper and took the money from it and the various award monies given me for "Police Officer of the Year" in 1985 to build the small cabin on the site. I have several trails now that are named for the hunting friends that shared the cabin,thus the name on the large sign, "The Trails". Hoppy,Mark,Richard,Nolen,Don---all have a trail sign on the place. It is a constant reminder to me of how fleeting Father Time is AND how fortunate I was to be a part of these friend's lives. Because honestly, I've been unsuccessful in finding fitting replacements to the point that I now hunt almost exclusively solo.

Ron, i love the looks of your camp! its small but perfectly suited for the purpose,hunting!

one question though, how is it heated? i didnt see a wood stove. you must a portable heater.

I originally intended to install a woodstove, but decided against because of lack of floor space.  The cabin is only 12'x16'.  I installed a small direct-vent propane heater that I run off 100# tanks.  It's mounted on the bottom of the wall between the "kitchen" and "dining room".  The combustion air is drawn in, and exhaust gases are vented out directly through the wall behind the heater.  The vent can be seen just below the bottom gable-end window in the pic of the outside of the cabin.
And in case anyone wonders about the facilities - we have a porta-crapper that I bought really cheap from one of the companies that delivers them to our jobsites.

This is a great thread. REALLY cool to see where everyone calls "home" during the hunting season. It appears many have much to be thankful for!!!

Eastern Fisher, no it's not a groundhog it's a frozen marten, my daughters used to play with them like barbies when they were that age...LOL honestly....both my girls are now grown up and have both feet firmly planted on the ground. they started shooting bows when they were 3 and are still at it...

I have a few questions about financing a camp.  This is not the forum to address my questions, but hoped someone who has bought a camp could PM or email me... actual mortgage broker would be awesome.
