Hey guys

I was wondering what is the best stringer to use on a heavy weight recurve. I've got a 75 pound bow that I've been stringing with my longbow stringer, but it's pretty sketchy and I would like a better way to string it. What do you guys use/suggest?

I like a stringer with a tip cup on each end.

Check out E.W. Bateman stringers.

I use the selway which has a cup on one end and the rubber limb bender on the other end.

Websters stringer. Pockets  on each end and 1" nylon strap instead of rope. I get mine from braveheart archery. There a sponsor here. You can even string your longbow with it. Best stringer I've used.

I have a Webster and a Black Widow stringer, both are good and do the job they are made for.

Another vote foe Webster stringer, I have strung recurves up to ninety pounds with one.

block and cup stringers are the best design  IMHO.
But you do need to make sure the string is the right length for you.  Most folks use them as they come and if your not 6 ft tall they are usually to long.

Mike, I'm close to 6', but not there anymore   :(   I shortened my string quite a bit, but found the angle of the string was pulling the block back down the limb if I did not keep a lot of outward pressure on it. I put a new, full length string on and found if I spread my feet fairly wide, the angle of the string is nearly straight down and doesn't slip back down the limb.

Guys may need to shorten the string, depending on height, but before cutting it back, I'd suggest spreading the feet a shoulder's width apart and see if that works. "Measure twice; cut once".

I like a Widow stringer even though I don't own a Widow.
