Ordered a Firefly takedown longbow for my Christmas present.  Jim says he should be done on Friday.  With luck I will hunt with it a week later.  Anyway, any other Firefly shooters out there?  Post your pics.  Mine will be charcoal dymondwood riser, actionboo limbs with waterfall bubinga vaneers and a core of walnunt.  Osage accents here and there.

Really looking forward to drawing the string.

Happy New Year...Todd

Todd,
Congrats on the Christmas present.  I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the bow.  My son and I both killed nice caribou bulls with our Firefly's last fall ('06).  Photos of some of our Firefly bows taken in my basement are currently being used on Braveheart Archery's website (Tradgang sponsor) to show some of the different combinations that Jim has produced.  Your bow as described above is going to be a great looking bow.  Love that Waterfall Bubinga!

Jim will build you a great bow. That waterfall bubinga is really pretty. It should be a real looker.

SlowBowinMO

I'll second that, the Waterfall Bubinga is one of the most striking veneers I've ever seen.  Simply gorgeous!

You're going to have one sweet shooting, good looking bow that's for sure.  Be sure to post some pics when you can, it sounds like an eye popping combo.

Timothy,
Do you have any pix that show the Firefly bows strung showing their profile?

Here you go Tom, these are off the "in stock bows" page on our site.  One of the many things I like about the Firefly is it's strung profile, they don't have the shape of many reflex/deflex longbows, just a nice smooth arc I find pleasing.

If you look on the in stock page there might be a couple more photo's that interest you.  If you want to PM me your e-mail addy I've likely got some more around I can send as well if you'd like.

Good shootin' all!

Tim

Jim bought some of the fanciest fiddleback myrtle from me that I have ever seen. Wait til he uses that for some veneers. Then you will see pretty.

SlowBowinMO

I confess I've led a sheltered life...what does fiddleback myrtle look like?   :help:

I've had my eyes on these bows for a while. Jim makes a beautiful bow for the money for sure.Tim at Braveheart Archery has a couple of beautys in stock and he is a true gentleman to deal with.

This is fiddleback myrtle wood! This is a sister board to what Jim has!

Good looking Wood.
Just may have to order a new Firefly Bow,..........or I should say #5
Jim's Longbows are awsome shooters and any one that gets one will be pleased.
Yes, This is my weakness to......................

I just recieved my Firefly from Tim at Braveheart. I think its the red and black one in the above photos. What a great shooting bow. Smooth as silk. First five arrows at 15 yds into a two inch circle. Thanks Tim and Jim!!!

SlowBowinMO

Yep Doug, that's your bow!   :D   Glad you like it.

Jim's Firefly limb is exceptionally smooth by design, but that Sassafras sure doesn't hurt either.  I'm getting more limbs here pretty soon, and I've decided on the Sassafras myself.  Good stuff!
