I'm looking to see how guys have their axis 500 trads set up. Bow weight, arrow length, insert weight, point weight, and footing.  Let's see what everyone is working with!

DJ Hardy

45# @28" 29.5" 500 50gr insert,125 bh and 1" 1916 footing.
I like wood bows. They fit my style and mentally simple self

Timberpoint Kraken  68" 40@28
Timberpoint Icarus.   64" 40@28
Black Widow PSA.    58" 38@28

I shoot these a lot. I run a 29.5in arrow. for my 49-50 lb bows I shoot them with 200 grains up front, either a standard insert and a 200 grain head or a 100 grain insert and a 100 grain head.

On my 45ish lb bows I shoot them with 250 upfront.  with the exception of my Bear Kodiak Magnum which likes the stiffer set up I use for my 50 lb bows.  I have never footed a shaft so I cannot comment on that.

I draw 28.5.

I shoot these out if my 45# kodiak magnum and my 47# predator recurve. They are my target  arrows and I only use 125 up front. If I go higher they are to weak. I'm not a huge fan of the finish Easton uses on these arrows. I dip and crest  but when I do refletch the finish comes off.  Overall a decent arrow but over priced in my honest opinion.

.500s are very versatile shafts.  i run them on longbows and recurves from 43# to 50# with 200 to 250 grains up front, cut 29 inches BOP for my 28-inch draw..

I have a dozen I am putting together, going to bare shaft this weekend, I have 56 grain stainless steel half-outs from black eagle and I shoot 200 grain heads for 256 grains up front out of a 54#@27" bow, we will see what length they bare shaft at, I'm guessing around 29" or so

I have for hunting arrows. 100 grain brass insert, 2 in footing made from 1917 shaft, 145 grain BH or field tip. Cut to 29in. Almost bomb proof IME. My bows are 55# at28in.

Glad to see a post about arrows that makes sense to me . I shoot other Easton arrows that are spined 500 with about the same weight up front as you guys are using . I see post of guys shooting Easton 340, 400 arrows out of a 50lb bow , makes me SMH .
