Took advantage of an amazing winter day and went scouting with the grandsons.  Think I may have to hang a stand along this trail next season.

That's a nice one, looks to be used for several years. Might want to put out a camera next fall if your so inclined.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Yep, looks like you might have a good place to watch for next season!

If that is indeed a rub, I'd sure like to see a pic of you next to the deer that made it next season!

So would I, Bisch.  It is a rub.  Old scrape and tore up branch about 70 yards west.  Too busy with the farm this season and never made it over to these woods to hunt.

Didn't hunt those woods. That's probably why he was in there. Make sure it's perfect before hunting it next year. Good luck and give us some pictures next year!

Sounds like a sound plan.  That looks like a signpost rub that more than one buck hits.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
