Smoothness, shootability, finger-pinch, etc....

Design is key, I think the shorter the bow the greater the recommended brace height needs to be to cut down on finger pinch. So look at forward handle designs like Big Jim's Thunderchild. There are others, that just one I'm familiar with and can actually remember the name of!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I have a 31" draw and I highly recommend Shrews or Javaman bow's. I have owned 5 now ranging from 52" to 58" and absolutely stand by the quality, craftsmanship and performance!

I will second the BigJim thunderchild , I have two 58" bows and I draw 31 no problem.

Black Widow PCH is a fine short bow representation; 58" up to 30" draw.

Bodnik Kiowa is 52" AMO and the maker claims it can be comfortably drawn to 31". I only draw 27 1/2" to 28" with this bow, but I have purposely overdrawn to 30" without noticing a hint of stack or finger pinch. Pete Ward also gives it rave reviews. I got mine from Kustom King, a sponsor here. I know they have a limited stock available, but for under $350, it is a steal!

I've only had it for a couple weeks, but so far I'm impressed. It's quiet, smooth to draw, and really smokes an arrow. I haven't had a chance to chronograph it yet, but plan to next weekend when I get down to the cabin.

I recommend the bear  k-mag. I draw 29 and it shoots great with no stack. So does my super mag. I also have a 58"  Great Plains swift which my friend shoots a lot. He drawS to 30 and he says it doesn't stack for him either.

A Lil Hoots if you can find one. I have a 52" recurve from them and draw 29.5". No stacking and one of my best shooting bows.

All of these bows are great bows you will not go wrong with eather. I would say it somewhat dependes on how you like your grip.

I draw 29-1/2" and I have a 56" Browning Wasp that is my shortest recurve.  For hunting it is OK but the finger pinch is substantial and after a half-dozen practice shots I am feeling it.

Delight to carry, though.
