I was on here this morning and clicked on a Photobucket picture and got my puter hacked !! If you are in PB and a Microsoft screen pops up shut the puter down and seek help!!

How do you know you've been hacked?

I took the puter to the doctor and he told me it had been hacked and Photobucket was a common place for that to happen.

When the Microsoft screen popped up I tried to delete it and even shut the puter down but it wouldn't go away, so I thought it was legit. Nope!!

Photobucket seems a disaster to me even without the hacking issue.  I switched to imgur about a year and a half ago for posting pictures and like it much mo better.  A small learning curve but not nearly the headaches there are with Photobucket!

PB has me locked out, I changed my email address. I tried Imgur but on my IPad I cannot get the correct script to come up. So I have given up till we get a new desktop.

Yes, PB seems much more difficult to work with   than it used to be.  Seems like these days they can't leave anything alone that is working until they "improve" stuff until it is useless.   :(

Photobucket has been almost unuseable, at least in my case.

I switched over to Flickr some time ago and it works much better/faster...plus more free storage than I'll use in a lifetime of posting.

Just a question and I'm sure there is a good reason but why can't we use a image platform that integrates with the Trad gang software. Some thing manageable, I know archery talk stores them on there site, I think. I get the space thing but if say photo bucket ever crashed or went under what would that do to Trad Gang archives?

Photo Bucket has always been the pitts and TG should have addressed the problems years ago. Maybe a fee for posting each picture would be an incentive.

I understand the space issue and why TradGang needs to use a hosting site such as photobucket.  Pictures simply take up a MASSIVE amount of server space.  I will say this - a forum such as this really loses something if pictures aren't easily usable.  I for one, have unfortunately posted way fewer pics than usual because of how slow and problematic using photobucket has been recently.

I'd be interested to hear what some of you who post photos often use... I know Flickr is an option.  What else is out there and how well does it work?

I'll have to keep an eye on photo bucket. Since they went to auto resize I haven't had a problem with photo bucket. I do everything from a home computer. I wonder if the format on a phone is different? I guess that wouldn't have anything to do with the hacking problem though.

Danny Rowan

Well, I have been using Photobucket for years with no problem, both on computer and phone. I do not click on any photos on the site other than on my page and use the photos there. I upload all my pictures from there to here and they show up on my post right away.

I sure wished it was easier to post  photo's on here.

Agreed.

I used PB for years to post here. Then a few weeks ago I ran into issues. Now I have to post the pictures to PB using my Mac's Safari browser.  Then to "Copy" I have to open PB on Chrome.  Then to TradGang.

I'm in the market for a new service. I'm going to try that Imgur that folks are mentioning. Pictures sure make posts far more interesting.

Stopped using PB years ago. I really like imgur for posting pics and it is super easy with a smartphone.
