I will have to back up Tom's thoughts.. I had a Reconyx and it's the best camera I have ever used. Unfortunately it was stolen this passed summer. If anything they are a good security camera. That's the way you justify the purchase to the wife!

I like the Brownings. Strike Force Black Ops doesn't seem to spook deer at night,  but night time picture quality isn't as good.  The Elite HD takes better night pictures,  but sometimes deer do notice them.  Placing the camera  8-10' above the trail and pointed down seems to help quite a bit.  
Both take outstanding day time pictures.

That was always my thought. I was lucky enough to have access to a discount with them and had $300 in a new hc600. It was a great tool but yes expensive either way and now it's gone. But the idiot who took it will never be able to use it because it shuts down if you don't use the code for it and if the thief sends it back to Reconyx in Wisconsin to have it overwritten the serial number is on file under my name. One thing about Reconyx is your not only paying for the best tool out there in regards to cams but you get the best customer service in that market. I have used about all of them and I can speak from experience. They are not in my budget at the moment but you get what you pay for like anything else.

If you can put out bait or attractants, you don't need a high dollar camera to see what you got in your area, because they come in and offer multiple pictures.

I have 6 of the brownings of various models - all work basically the same way - easy-peasy.  I bought them as they went on sale.  If you watch, you can get some of them for $79.99 at the "big outfitters store".  I think they have one on sale now.  Most all of the cameras are made in China, but the brownings seem to be a little better product than some of the others.

Thank you all for all the help and advice, I ordered 2 Brownings after reading your thoughts and a million reviews. Have to wonder if some f the reviewers work for cam companies, some gushers and some grumpers on every facet of every camera!!

I ordered 2 different cameras so I could compare for myself.
