First of all, Welcome!

Next, great job to buy a Samick Sage and at a lower poundage and get your form down first.

Now you are ready for some real fun!

At the risk of repeating what has been said above, go shoot lots of bows! Go to archery stores and shoot any that catch your eye.  Make notes so you remember.  Go to shoots.  Go to clubs.  When offered, shoot the bows they have or make available.  Make more notes.

The Savannah is a fine bow.  There are lots of others just as good.

I would recommend checking out Bob Lee bows. They have been making excellent bows for a long time and are located in Texas. I have three.

This is kind of like asking what truck is best:  Chevy, Ford, or Dodge. All will get the job done. You need to try some different bows to see what you like.  Try to attend some large traditional shoots in your area.  Most archers would be happy to let you shoot a few arrows out of their bow.  Martin Savannah is a well made bow and a good shooter according to those who have owned one.

I bought a Savannah about a month ago.  If you go that route, look for one that is pre 2012 as I am told that they are better shooters and are easier to sell if you decide to try something different.  The Savannah was my first bow that is missing the curves at the end of the limbs.  It took me about a day to get used to shooting it, but once I did, I found that it is very easy to shoot as well or better than my recurves.  They are also good looking bows, which doesn't hurt.
If you are close, feel free to drop by some time.

oops sorry

I have had good success with the classifieds. I have two Savannahs 35# and 55#. One allows me to shoot a lot working on form and the other hunt. I have shoulder problems in a big way and know that shooting life is limited unless I work with lower weights. Those two Savannahs cost me less than one new one and look absolutely new to me. Chad Holm makes and incredibly good Long Bow and Recurve if you want custom.

Many very good bowyers in Tx. Several are sponsors here. I just purchased a Dryad Orion longbow with the ACS limbs, its a hybrid. Bow shoots lights out and becoming one of my favorites as we get acquainted.
