Just acquired a very nice PSRX. Shoots great but it's noisy. I removed the spider silencers and installed a set of woolie whiskers on standard BW D97 14 strand  string and still get a noticeable thwang,. Bow is 60" 51#@ 28"! I draw to 28". Shooting a CX 150 cut to 29.5" Brace is 7.5". Any suggestions?

Raise brace a bit at a time and move the puffs around a bit. The one I had was almost silent with the same set up.

Another vote for upping the brace...  When my longbow gets noisy, it's the brace.

I put an sbd on my PLV with small wool silencers and it's quiet as a mouse!

I've got bowhush, stik tamers, hush puks and beaver hair on my string.... works!

Along with everything else,  Try a .400 deflection carbon.  You may be a little weak on spine.  If not add point weight to the .400.

You could also try a different string. D97 is a good string, but there are quieter ones out there, like BCY-X, and D-10(SBD). I'm certainly no expert on everything, but I've tried many different strings on as many bows, and have come to really like BCY-X, regardless of bow type.

I have a widow with almost identical specs. The above advice on the 400 spine is spot on. At least for me. I'm shooting FMJ arrows a100 grain insert/175 grain point and my brace is around 8".   Shooting a black widow factory string. The bow is a great shooter and is as quiet as my other recurves. A little tinkering and she should come around.

If by chance its a take down, put sting wax on the male section,
That should fix the problem.
I just got in from shooting mine, quite as a longbow and just and awesome bow to shoot. One of if not my favorite bow.

As others have recommended get rid of the D97 and get a lower strand string, every thing else sounds pretty close.

  I had a 56"PSRX 52#@28 shooting GT 400's 29" with 200gr points, you might be a tad under spined.

 Everyone is different release can also effect spine and noise, mine was dead quiet with the puffs and a low strand string.

Thanks a lot guys! I'll probably change out string and play with brace height after waxing the male section of the t/d. I'm also going to give some thought to the 400's as suggested.

Ok, first of all thanks to all who responded to my request for help! Here is the update: I made up a FF Plus 14 strand string and put on a new set of woolies. I waxed the connection and raised the brace height to 8" then shot a few 2018 Legacy XX75's cut to 29.5" with 200 grs up front.... WOW! what a difference. She has quieted down considerably!! Not "church mouse fart quiet" yet but I'm on my way. Big thanks to all for your help!
