I recently  bought a used B&J made longbow. It is 64" 53@28 I'm not sure of the model put I'm pretty sure it's a nova or super nova. I hoping someone can tell me what the brace height should be set at. I have it set at 71/2 right now.  It seems to shoot Ok at that brace height. but would like too know if I'm in the ball park.  And if someone can post pics for me. Hopefully someone can tell me for sure what model it is. Thanks and Merry Christmas Jon

I can't remember the brace height range but do remember the earlier 21st Century bows used a higher brace height. It was due to the highly R/D of them and so the string would not contact the belly of the limb making them IBO legal.I brace my 66" B&J Nova right at 8.5",the longer the bow the brace height went up.Your probably right at the bottom of the range and could go up to 8" for a 64" 21st Century. Now my 21st Century Edge 66" I shoot at 6&3/4" brace, redesign for lower brace and have more of a D-shape when strung.

JRY309, thanks I set the brace height at 81/4  and it made a big differance in how quiet it shoots. I'm still going to play with it some but I think I found the sweet spot. Now if I can only find out what model it is. Tips are very reflexed and wide like a recurve. The riser looks like an edge. And under the specs is 97018 serial # or model# ?

As low as possible so string does not touch the limbs.
