About 25 with another on the way. Oh well I keep telling myself there are worse addictions!

mgf

I only have one bow that I shoot and hunt with.

That's enough for me except that I'd like to put together a warm weather pig hunting trip and I think it would be practical to have a backup.

I do have a few "heavy" bows that I don't shoot anymore and a couple "kiddie" type bows laying around.

Broken Arrows

I can only hunt with one bow at a time. What I need is more arrows!
Take the long way around.

The question is not how many bows. Rather it should be how high can you count?

Yes to to the "just one more" answers.
But, how do you choose which one you are taking hunting?

I have enjoyed dealing with the bowyers who are contributors here so much that I feel a little guilty when I don't use their bow!

Well I've been shooting trad right at a year, and I have 4 with a Black Widow on the way that should be here in a couple weeks. I'm not bringing any more bows home. But I may get a few to stash at the camper that my wife won't know about.

I had sixty five, sold thirteen, bought seven.  I need to sell a few duplicates so I can buy some more.

I don't need any. The question is how many do I want.  That answer varies from day to day.

I only need as many as I can hang on my current bow racks...as they stay nearly full...so for me the number is 16....but 5 are old vintage Browning classics, 1 was gifted to me by Joe Mattingly, 1 was my very first traditional bow I got from Owen Jefferies when he had his shop on Pepper Street in Columbia SC and I was stationed in Sumter SC....  Really the only ones I would consider getting rid of is one of my Brownings...a mint condition Cobra II.....and maybe my Habu from 1999 unless I get lower weight limbs which if Chris wants to charge current prices on that old limb design will never happen as they are as much as I paid for the whole bow back then. LOL    I have two hickory staves to make into a selfbow....maybe one more glass bow and anything else will be selfbows once I start making them for myself.

Honestly, after I got my Black Widow Longbow I don't need or want anything else.   :)

Need has nothing to do with it. If I want another bow, I buy it.

I've been giving this subject some serious thought and there are a couple that I can no longer shoot with comfort or as accurate as I used to.
Time to thin the herd I guess...

How many ridges do I need to crest and see what's on the other side?

I've got a handful but only shoot one, and one is all I need.  Except my bow fishing bow...gotta keep that one.
