My brother, dad and I went on a public land nilgai/whitetail/hog hunt in South Texas last week. We were targeting the Nilgai as we have plenty of places to hunt deer and hogs whenever we want. Plans changed when the cold front kicked in. Ended up rattling this buck up for my brother, it was epic. Hopefully he comes in and writes a full story. I would write it, but I write like a fifth grader and it's the only thing he's actually good at. Well writing and trad hunting.

 

 

 

No vehicles allowed on the place. Only bikes.

I didn't know that nilgai were a public land thing, I thought that was only on private ranches. Something else to add to the wishlist.

Yes, theirs Nilgai on some south Texas public land, not to mention hogs too. Some years the state kills off a bunch of them with helicopters. Their not native so the state tries to control the amount of nilgai, plus hogs.  They are big & taste great!
You better have help on getting them out!
