I've been away for a while.  I remember that the HH Gang would gather for a few days of hunting, camping and fellowship in South GA.  Does this still take place?

Wow...haven't heard of this in a while.....

Brings back fond memories of threads of grandeur.

I hope, as a N Georgian, that someone replies.

Darren Nunez organized the Hill Gang Hog Hunt in Southern Georgia in 2013 for TradGang.  But right after that he started his own trad group and forum, and in 2014 he organized pretty much the same hunt again, but as a Traditional Archery Society hunt.  It may still be an annual event for them but I don't know because I'm not a member of that group.

Hawken,

Thank you for the reply and information.  I received a pm from another member that was informative as well.

There were two in South Ga. at Ocmulgee WMA. I went to both. It rained all day the day after I had to leave on the first and was in the teens at night on the one I stayed 3 days on. Several people saw and got shots on pigs. I killed one. It was a good time and I got to shake the hand of many people I probably never would have met otherwise. I even saw a Bear on the second trip that had been ran out of hibernation by loggers.
Darren did start his own web site and in my opinion is a top of the line Guy that had nothing bad to say about this group. I`m not sure what is sad about that. RC

RC,

Didn't mean anything negative.  Just sorry things got split and the HH hunt ended.

I was in that first hunt group. The most bone soaking wet I have ever been while hunting. But also a great time meeting folks from this site.

Group hunts still occur. Jump on the other site or maybe someone can take the lead on organizing another group hunt on here. Hunting is the reason we're here, or there, anyway.

I wish that still happened too. I'm new here but I'm in central Georgia and would love to meet and get advice from more experienced archers.

Gurge, join the TBG and you are automatically invited to any of their regional hunts with some serious trad bow hunters.  Great group.

Gurge, as above, please join your local or state archery group, especially if you have a traditional group.

THEN be active within it.  They create a lot of opportunities to learn, grow and meet others like you.  That leads to more hunting and friendship opportunities with folks you may never have otherwise met.

RC

There will be a TBG hunt coming up in January at Chickasawhatchee WMA.
