Wife wants me to put together a want list,,  I wanted more grizzly's are they still good heads "I think" I'm only familiar with the originals which I can get sharp enough to shave my face.

The new ones are better.  Same sharpening qualities with more consistent manufacturing.

I've been using the current Grizzly Kodiaks for a few years and I think they are great heads.  Get sharp, stay that way and kill stuff very well.

I got a batch of kodiaks about 2 months ago and I am super pleased. Very nice broadheads.

I really like them.  I run the 185 Grizzly with a 125 grain steel insert giving me a 310 grain head.  The 185 grain are .060" thick.  I've beat the heck out of them on rocks in the Texas hill country and they dont get destroyed.

good news, thank you for the posts everyone..   a 310 gr head sounds tempting, Terry do you have any 300gr field points there? .

3 Rivers has 300 grain field points.  I use those with two 5 grain brass washers (they also sell) to get my head to 310 grains to match the Grizzly.

The Grizzly by the way flies as good if not better than my field points.  They don't make any hissing sound going through the air like a vented blade does.

I can shoot my Grizzlies on a bareshafted arrow out to 15 yards and make very good hits with it.  (I'm at 28.76% FOC) which certainly helps flight.

I use the 150 single bevel and they get super sharp with a KME.  Great broadheads.

Yes the new ones are better than the originals.

I bought the 200 grain 3 blades this year. I have got them really sharp with a fine and a jewel stick. They fly good no problems there. I have not had a shot so far this year so I will post later when that time comes. I used the two blade years ago and they worked well. Overall I think they are a pretty good head.

The new grizzlies are exceptional.  I'm getting ready to mount a few more this week.

KME used to regrind the old Griz and market them thru folks...

What Ron told me was the griz heads were some of if not the hardest steel out there... Bill kept the hardness, but changed the bevel grind.

What was hard was getting a new bevel on the old heads...I've done it with KME's latest diamond stones...did 3 with knife sharpener and 3 with the BH sharpener for a friend.

It was a beast but it was almost as hard with the Tuskers back way when.  

Bill's kept the hard steel but gone to a 25* bevel and it's easier to tune them up.  

Ron had commented that he'd done just one bevel on some as he was building the grinding machines, then throw the "blanks with one bevel ground" into a coffee can.  Months later, he pulled one out and it was rusty...he stropped the side he beveled on cardboard and shaved hair..

Shooting cement board, hard stumps, some accidental rocks,   So far no problems.

I got the 235 grain kodiak with a 75 grain adaptor.

I was my passion for the Grizzly broadhead that led to the birth of Braveheart.  They were the first item we stocked.  Great heads!

Sadly the former owners of the head were so poor at business and actually shipping product we were forced to drop them.  I have heard nothing but good things though since Zipper took over.    

Tim, might be time to put them back on the list!
