Had a cool looking buck chase a group of does by me about 5:30 on Friday evening - no where near a shot opportunity.  Then about 40 minutes later, he came in behind me and presented a beautiful 15 yard quartering away shot.  He was walking and I don't grunt at them unless I have to, and I released and it got him about 3" farther than back than I wanted.  But I knew it was a lethal hit.  Being right at dark, I got down, found my arrow and a blood trail.  The arrow was coated with dark blood so I knew it was at least a liver hit.  I backed out and went home for the classic "nervous" night.

Got back out right at daylight and lost blood pretty quickly after 20 or 30 yards of good blood.  I had a good idea where he was headed so I just went on a search and had my hands on him in 20 minutes.  He ran about 115 yards and bedded up and died there.  Glad I didn't push him.  I ended up making a slice on the front of the guts, dead centered the liver, and caught the offside lung on the way out.

He's a crazy racked buck - very heavy bases and good beam length but only a small set of brow tines and not another point on him!  He's at least 2 1/2, but based on body size, teeth, and size of his bases I believe him to be a 3 year old.  This is an urban plot I'm hunting, and he seems to simply be an urban mutant.  Cool and unique buck to say the least.  He has a 16 1/2" spread!  He's a big bodied deer for this part of NC - to give you reference, I'm 6'1" and 240 lbs.

The bow is a 1973 Herters Perfection Mag T/D (aluminum riser) and is 56" and 56@28.  I was using a .400 spine GT with a Woodsman head.

Congratulations and he kind of looks like a Texas Longhorn. Very unique set of antlers for sure.
