I'd hunt with anything between 40-60#. Looking forward to getting in on this for the first time, your bows are very nice.

Mid 40's and most everyone can shoot that-thanks for your expertise.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

I guess if everone is voting, I would personally prefer it to not be less than 50# @ 28".  Getting older, but still personally like the release I get with a little heavier weights.

pdk25

And I agree with the others.  Thank you for the generosity.

chinook907

Beautiful bow.  And thanks so much for your generosity.

Thankfully the world does not revolve around me, but I'd much prefer something over 50#'s to something under.

Thanks again.

My vote is 47-49 but anything 45-50 is good.

Being the these bows will be hunting year round which would included a lot of hog hunting ....hogs are akin to elk in tuffness...so just something to consider.

I'm sure what ever you decide will work out, look great, and will fill the list.

Many thanks for your contribution!!!

Yep. 45#-49#. Probably fit the need for the majority of hunters young and old.

I agree with staying near, or just below 50#@28". I'd certainly be in for a ride with "Hope" if they come in close to that.

Love it when Terry takes possession of these bows before they go off to war.  We get to shoot them and set them up.  Its always fun to see what comes in every year.  Thanks for offering to do this Will.

Biathlonman

I just sent a couple of big pieces of some nice maple to Will.  It wasn't long ago my good friend Isreal Roman, Izzy, and I were talking about how neat it would be to get this wood made into some veneers and each of us were going to have a bow made from it.  Two cops who met on an unlikely website like Tradgang and were fast friends due to our love of bowhunting and our shared profession.  We talked often about the bows we would have made and the hunts we would share with those bows.

After we lost Izzy, I've been struggling trying to decide what I should do with it.  To be brutally honest it's been a bit of an albatross having it around my garage. Many times I had to fight back the urge just to throw it in my fire pit. When I saw the opportunity to send it to Will to help the children of St. Jude I knew that was exactly where this wood needed to go.

My hope is two fold.  That first off these bows can help the children of St. Jude.  Second, I hope they help those of us who have lost friends and loved ones remember them for the incredible people that they were.

I hope thats not to selfish of me.

monterey

That would be a full 180 degrees from selfish!  Gonna make some pretty bows.
