Cams are a awesome tool but not needed, if I just flung arrows my season would be over in just a couple hunts. Not much challenge or fun to that. Out smarting a 4+ year old buck on his own turf free range no feeders is a challenge and takes a lot of skill and woodsmanship. My average shot distance is 12yds on all my deer over many years.

Hunt #2 of the year, first deer in shooting range,
Anticipation and build up of a hunt is a huge part of the experience for me and I was doing a little scrambling in my mind as he came in is all.

Fun hunt that ended with a stud buck and an experience with my boys that we won't soon forget
