Just Found this! Its a very cool app and site that takes navigation and locating stands etc very easy.
This is the way it should be rather than lat and long numbers and all the scientific stuff.

That is a tremendous app. The world broken up into 3 meter squares! If it would become the norm, what a boon to Search and Rescue, close air support, and finding that downed elk in a maze of black timber without all that orange flagging.

Maybe im missing something but what's the name of the APP

RAGHORN 3

The app is called "what3words"  the website is what3words.com

Sounds good, I will give it a try.  I use another app now that I like that marks all my stand sites and allows me to export them to others with the same app.

I downloaded and I like the ability to send a pin location where you are to someone but I didn't see how you could save locations so you could use them again in the future. Maybe I missed something.

LB, great app. I downloaded the off line map for Mo. Great set up on both. Thanks a bunch.

No saving locations within the app.
The only way to "keep" the location would be to text it to yourself.

Scout Look works better for me to keep my stand locations.

I've been playing around with it for a few days and it doesn't repeat for me .
I can get different names at the same spot every time I do It .
It has even said that I was in London once .
   :dunno:
I'm thinking that my Google maps app is much handier .

hmmm. not sure why its acting that way for you. its works like a champ for me. Very useful in and out of the woods.
my buddy and his son are coming up to camp for a weekend and hunt the state land around me. I will be out of town while he is up here. So i just sent him 6 good stand sites using this app. i love it.

Jason,

I just drove 10 hours to TN by pulling up a "My3words" location and then sending it to Goggle maps.  Worked great!

What you can do after locating your spot send to whatever map or Goggle maps you desire and drop a pin there then save.

It will always be there on the map ready for use.

I was in my stand and opened the app and saw that it marked my location.  I texted it, but when I later opened the text it showed my house.  Any idea where I went wrong?

LB_hntr

I don't think the app is designed to set multiple pins. But it is designed to get you within 9 feet with simple words.
So when you are at your tree you open the app and text the 3word location to yourself. Then next time you want to go to that stand you just open that text and hit go with Google maps and it will take you right there. Plus many other very useful ways to use it.
