I had seen nothing for the first 2 hours of my sit other than squirrels and a marsh hawk.  7 o'clock came so I had stood up in my climber stand in anticipation.  I caught movement to my right and saw that a buck was coming in, following the track I had walked in on.  I knew he was a 2.5 year old and that he was a legal buck.  He stopped 5 yards from the base of my tree.  He acted as though he knew something wasn't right but the wind was perfect and he never looked up.  He continued by me and when he got about 12 yards beyond me he was quartering away.  I drew and released.  The bow was quiet and the arrow flew straight, burying up to the fletches an inch or two higher than I was looking.  But, I knew my broadheads were sharp and I knew I had still hit him well.  He ran 80 yards or so and I heard him crash.  I quickly found my deer.

I'll take some better pictures on the morning.

I didn't shoot a deer last year.  I didn't even have a deer in range last year.  That makes this one very rewarding.

Congrats, good job.  I wasn't hunting to far from you this morning and I saw 2 bucks chasing a doe fawn around.
