I have a lot of respect for you guys who hunt where there are real predators. Luckily for this big chicken (me), gators are about the only thing in my woods that can eat me.

I got stalked by one of those on a backpacking trip once. Those were the only two nights I can remember not sleeping easy in the woods. I think it was more curious than anything but that didn't offer me very much comfort at the time.

You can keep it out there if you would. There's a few walking around this state. Never had to watch my back in the old days while sitting on the ground but times change.

Oh the deer will come back when the cat moves on. Probably a few weeks.
During the season I walked the mile+ out of that basin from my stand to the camp 13 nights well after dark.
Spooky. I also saw two bears this season. I called one to 50yards then it circled me to get down wind and like smoke disappeared.

In Iowa most of the time it is here today gone tomorrow thing for them. I have had the here today thing twice now, it is a little unnerving. However, after we were told that we were either lying or dreaming by the game warden. He became a believer when a farmer showed him the one he shot that was getting into his cattle yard.

when i hunted SC and they told me forget the gators watch out for the 7 poisonous snakes, mahoghony wasps, black and brown widows, fire ants and gnats,,,, being allergic to bees and forgetting snake boots i feared for my life down in the south land. think a cat if i kept the sheath in the ready position at all times i could get a dagger into its torso at least once if it pounced on me,,,,; snakes though the venom is flowing once bit... much due respect i think you have it worse 8v)

No Tajue your wrong. The one I saw cleared a thirty foot high earthen damn in about one and a half bounds. Prior to that it jumped higher than the cedars to knock a turkey down. I thought black bears had an unbelievable exceleration potential, but those big kitties are furred lightening.
