Visited toelke bows

While in Montana on my honeymoon I realized we were only about an hour away from Montana bows. We didn't have much going on one afternoon so I called him and he told us to come on out. Dan let me shoot all of his different models that I was interested in and wow does he build some absolutely beautiful looking and shooting bows. Now is recouping from my trip and deciding if I want a whip or chinook recurve? I want to say thanks to Dan for taking time out of his day and letting me shoot his bows and showing me around his shop!

I'm jealous! Dan's creations have become my favorite bows over the years. They combine all the best aspects of a fine trad bow and his lineup has something for everyone. I have a northwestern trip planned someday and a stop by the Toelke shop is definitely on the radar. For me it is a toss up between the Chinook and the Lynx with longbow limbs. To me the Chinook does have it all though...extra speed with the quietness of a Whip. Gotta love the extra mass of a Lynx riser though. For a pure go anywhere bow that is bigger than its britches you have the Pika. I own three of the models, that's how hard it is to have a favorite.

The Toelkes are great people!
It is difficult for me to visit their shop and not either leave with a bow or one on order.

So I need to limit my visits!!

Good job! Getting your new wife used to bow collecting early on. Mine never has warmed to that idea, even after 43 years of marriage. But I have become a master at sneaking new bows into the house. Congratulations on your wedding. Does your wife shoot with you?

Thanks everyone and yes she does shoot with me. We both have a crooked stic longbow, this is my first year hunting with a trad bow and I'm more excited than ever to take it to the woods. But yes we already talked about a new toelke being my Christmas present so we'll have to see lol.

Sounds like a great honeymoon! I was very pleased with a 66" Lynx 3-piece longbow that I borrowed from my brother for about 3 months. It was a great bow!

I shoot my Whip as good or better than any other bow I've owned and it's almost as fast as my Dryad ACS longbows. And it's an absolute work of art!
