I was fortunate enough to contact Mr. Patton at the right time as he was finishing up a brand new Black Feather, which matched my specs. perfectly.  I received it on Saturday and have shot it a bit and I must say this is the most forgiving longbow I have ever had.  Smooth as butter on the draw and no shock whatsoever.  She is 62" and 49# @ 28".  Mr. Patton had added a stabilizer adapter, which made the riser a bit larger than I prefer but this was a small price to pay for a real shooter.  Beautiful Cocobolo/Myrtle riser with figured Myrtle veneers and nice limb caps/tips to match the riser.  My pictures aren't the best and do not provide the justice this bow deserves.

Shoot straight.

That is a good looking bow! I passed one up on the classifieds. I wanted a 64" and it was 62". I wish I would have went ahead and got it.

I like dark brown bows a lot. This one sure looks nice.

I know a couple of people with Elmer's bows and they both have had great success with them. Good luck!

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

I just picked up a crow mag and I love it. I was told that Mr. Patton was no longer making bows. But it looks as if he is still in business. Very nice bow, love the wood combo you got a nice one enjoy

Not to step on/high jack the topic but,

I have a Crow Creek - Black Feather - 62" - 48# @ 28" - not as pretty as D. Keys bow but is in great shape and looks/shoots great that I will sell.  If interested shoot me a PM.

I think he makes of the nicest looking 3 PC longbows.I had the Crow Creek Mag and the Black Feather. Both were extremely well made with excellent fit and finish.

Good luck with her!

That is a beaut!

I hope my wife doesn't see me drooling over that because I just bought a new bow... she may not appreciate me getting all worked up over another bow!

He's not really in business. He originally started that Black Feather a couple of years ago. The original buyer didn't want it after completion, so Elmer remade it. It's a beautiful bow. Hold on to it. It may be the last Black Feather made.
