Now trying to figure out how to haul it in my Toyota Tacoma with a toolbox in the bed.

Mine likely will. An old aluminum boat that belonged to my late grandfather. He and my uncle camoed it up for duck hunting in the late 60's/70's. It's also the first canoe I ever rode in. Almost bought an Old Town not long before I was gifted this one. They are my absolute favorite paddle boats. Spent several summers in Vanceboro Maine catching pickerel from it on a microlight & buzz baits from my father's Discovery 169.

Have one, but we have little water in which to use it!

There a neat story about this one I picked up from a young guy named Mike Saunders.

He put in at the headwaters of the Mississippi river in Minnesota and floated over 2200 miles to the Gulf of Mexico          :clapper:

If you would like to read his story you can Goggle "Lost with Mike" and read it and several other adventures he's taken, one crazy dude!

That would be an epic trip! I've thought about doing similar on the Red River here on the Oklahoma/Texas border to Texoma. Looks like if I pulled out at the dam there doesn't seem to be a dam to the Big Muddy. I've still got family near the dam that could help with portage.

I might paddle across a small lake to get to a mountain I want to hunt.  My canoe is a home made (not by me) cedar strip canoe.  And maybe spend a night there.

How long is that canoe?

I've never hunted with a boat before, but it's something is love to do.  I think it's just the idea of hunting somewhere that isn't even accessible with a vehicle that makes it sound like fun.

I got me a water moccasin pirogue equipped with a trolling motor and a #500 weight limit.  I look forward to taking that joker in some places.  I'm hoping it works half as good as I think it will.

The only problem with it is transport.  I have a SUV and that joker aint light.

John, If you ever make it up this way I have a bed extended you're welcome to use indefinitely.  I don't have a truck at this time, so I know i wont be using it any time soon.

I bought a wenonah last year, I'll have it with me in the Adirondacks in 10 days.  There is a lake I will fish on my way across to the area I want to hunt.

Corey,

I was in fact planning to buy a pirogue either a Ron Chapman Copperhead or a Bayou pirogue. At the last minute I did another search on Craig's list and found this one.

It's a hybrid canoe/kayak 13' and 59#.

Daniel I'm looking for a bed extender now or someone to custom make me one.

I want to lay the bow on my toolbox and have the bed extender curve up to 31" and 3' back of the tailgate. This will allow me to use the bed with the tailgate closed.

John, that Pack looks a lot like mine but is lighter . How long is it? I'm surprised they discontinued it. Very nice.
