I read a review of a new book in Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, Bear Archery Traditional Bows/A Chronological History, by Jorge L. Coppen. It looked interesting so I ordered one. Today it arrived and I'm very pleased. Great pictures, well written and charts describing woods and glass colors used over the history of Bear hunting and target bows. Just a wealth of information. I have a few old Bears and a newer Takedown, neat to see them described in detail in this book and then to see a photo. If you like old Bears you might want to pick this book up just for reference.

Ron, thanks for the "heads up". Think I will add to my Christmas list.

Great book!  I picked it up a few months ago and it helped me figure out the years of my 4 Bear bows.

It's great, isn't it?
Allowed me to pretty much positively ID my Bears, even the one with no markings or S/N.

Doing some research I have aged all my old Bears, most even have a photo to compare to......this was a good investment.
