Just curious to see how many of you all use Tree Seats.

For those that do use them, did you make your own or buy it?

I'd like to hear about some options.

I do, I make the Torges seat, works great.

I've used several different ones in the last few years but this year I bought one from big Jim. I don't recall the name but it just sticks in the ground and the you lean it back against a tree. Super simple light weight no noise from straps no squeaks when you move around on it. I love it

I second the Dean Torges seat, easy to make.

Not real handy so bought a Millennium tree seat. Light and strap it to pack and go, like being able to move location easily if necessary. Have taken two deer so far using it-one at 12 yards and one at 4,while using a ghillie type suit.

I have a torges that I have used for years , last year I used a Millennium and love it . It is large and bulky to carry but is light .It is very comfy .

I use a Gorilla tree seat ( they stopped producing them ) it has a net seat like an ole man stand seat . Very comfy

Nifty seat,, lean back against a tree for rest then when you hear something coming just lean away from the tree so the tree itself doesn't interfere with your drawing the bow or set it inside bushes and shoot 360 degrees, you can even shoot leaning the seat on weird angles, even steep hills not a problem.

light, strong and reliable and hugs the small of your back if you toss the case it comes with and just use para cord tied o it like a sling.

I use a hammock seat or the top part of my Lone Wolf hand climber.
Both work well.

I have a couple Torges Seats I made. They work pretty well but are a bit noisy when you stand to stretch and sit down again. I also use a Waldrop Pac Seat. Not a true tree seat but I like to lean it against a larger tree. Great all around seat. Super confortable. A buddy of mine has the Hunters Seat and swears by it for mobility and quick set up. He's a bigger guy and need a little more padding for the seat.

I have used tree seats for years. The Sumitt " trophy chair " has been my favorite. However, I received the " Millenium t-300 " as a gift and it is quickly becoming my go to seat. Very light weight, carries well, attaches quick and quiet, and appears to be very durable.

I used a Niftyseat for a few years but found it very uncomfortable for my bony butt after an hour or so.

I made a few Torges seats, not bad but a little springy at times and not real comfortable for a long sit considering the limited padding I put on them.

A Summit Trophy Chair was next, a Cadillac for sure but heavy and a pain to carry on long hikes. In spite of it's short comings it has been my go to chair for long sits.

I have a hammock seat, nice and easy to carry on long turkey hunting treks.

I suspect a Milininum will be next on my list, they are so light.

I use a tree seat to hunt from a brush blind.

It takes up less room in the blind and the tree is a good back rest, as long as you smooth it out with an axe or a machete.

However, in the north country where I live, coniferous trees like bolsum can be a problem because of the sap bubbles.

I forgot to mention that I add a good foam cushion on top of the original padding.

Another vote for the Torges. I make mine with a hinge in the middle so it folds and fits in a fanny pack.

should of mentioned I do have a gorilla tree seat, wrapped all the exposed metal with camo hockey tape made some backpack straps from rope and hockey taped the knots.   love it I usually start using that when the ground is frozen or we have snow already.

I've used them for years.  I like the ones that have a heavy ratchet strap.  Use them with stands that don't have a seat.  Used my first one with one of those utility ladders that fold up every which way.  Was only about 10 ft up, but used that set up for about 15 years.  Stayed out all year and ladder still works.  Had to retire the seat finally.
