We get so busy doing the day to day responsibilities, we forget to slow down and enjoy those rare quiet moments in the woods. I have a place I like to hunt every year and there is the perfect log to relax on and close my eyes and drift off to a very restful sleep.
I thought their has to be a few of us who have a special place we look forward to spending sometime at either just sitting or even taking a deep nap, that will clear the mind and lower the blood pressure. So share what comes to mind when you think of a unique place that is some how special to you, we'd love to hear a description of this special place. Thanks and Good luck out their folks.    :campfire:

I have never taken a nap there but I have a special place on top of my favorite mountain that I often go to smoke my pipe and cook breakfast. we also gather there after a hunt and enjoy a cold one that I have hidden in a hole in the creek...

I go by many names but Daddy is my favorite!
listen to everyone,FOLLOW NO ONE!!
if your lucky enough to spend time in the mountains...then your lucky enough!

I don't hunt in the mountains, but I have a couple of stands that sure are comfortable to snooze in. I would never sleep on the ground because of the probability of ticks.

I will be here in two days....

A good place for a bit of early afternoon rest and relaxation while chasing elk.

Nothing like the sound of the rushing water over the rocks to put me to sleep.

No mountains here , but most any comfortable spot in the woods can do the trick .
A breeze rustling in the leaves of the trees and add some squirrel gnawing on a nut ......
ZZZzzzzz....
Yep , that will do it .

LOL.....never been to a spot in the woods where I couldn't take a nap. In the Adirondacks or hunting local......I can nap standing up.   :dunno:

No mtns around where I live or hunt, so, no!

But if I did, I think it would be with my head laid down on the side of a soft elk that I had just shot with my longbow! Man, I dream of killing an elk with my longbow!

There is no doubt that there is a lot of beauty in the mountains!!!

Nothing like the fall's warming rays soaking into your bones after a long morning of hunting. Any hillside that fits my posterior works for me...looks like you found a good one Charlie!
I have been known to snore a little bit. Once I was watching an elk wallow when the "sandman" paid me a visit. Upon waking I watched a bull's antlers disappear over a rise only 30yds away. I think he was wondering what sick sounding critter was in his wallow!

Snag , I think you misspelled that word .
You put sore a little bit , I think that's , snore a little bit .

When I was young and dumb I would get into my old baker treestand well before first light, hang my "contraption" , then sit down on the platform and snooze for a bit, no fall restraint. I was quite comfortable though. I nearly always woke up before daylight.

Almost any old stump or tree that was big enough to support my shoulders worked other wise.

Haven't even tried snoozing on the ground since moving to Ok. though, too many ticks.

An old buddy of mine who passed a couple of years ago often showed a complete lack of common sense in the woods where we hunted.

One day he got drowsy late in the morning and got out of his stand. He cleared a nice spot in the oak leaves and laid down for a half hour nap.

The chiggers had a field day with him. Why he didn't know that would happen I'll never know. On the way home that weekend he had a small cardiac event and I took him straight to the nearest hospital.

He was OK, but after he was stripped down the ER people wanted to know if he was being abused at home. He had to explain chiggers to them. (city people)

I've never been THAT sleepy.

They went over him head to toe and then released him after a couple of hours.
