Here's to a great upcoming season.  I, among many others, have been waiting for tomorrow morning for 11 months.  Kill or no-kill, this will be a great season.

Thanks Brent, likewise my friend. As Julie is not feeling well I will be on a slight delay. That's ok I guess we have 30 of them!

I planned to see the sun rise through dark timber this morning but on of my grandsons has a football game this afternoon so tomorrow will be my opener.

Just a day trip.

Good luck to all.

Really pumped. This is my first season as a resident. No more $600 elk tags for this old man.
Now if I could just find some kindly rancher with a soft spot for eccentric longbow shooters...   :bigsmyl:

I can't climb those mountains anymore but I get to enjoy following my son around the Crested Butte area on his spot.

Good luck guys!

I wish I could be there, and hope and pray I get to loose an arrow at an elk before I die!

Spent yesterday creeping around my honey hole.  Down 1100 ft and back up, mostly steep!  Gets harder every year.

They were there as expected.  Was able to track them out of their nite feeding plots and figure real close on where they were holed up for the day.  I avoided pursuing them or still hunting them so as not to run them out of the country.  I opted to try cow calling a bull out of the bunch but none responded.  Hah, there may not have been a bull in the bunch.   :biglaugh:
