I am wanting to take a deer with a longbow and never have .
My old K-Mag that I have had sense 1973 has been my go to bow every sense I've had it .
But how am I going to take a deer with my longbow if I don't hunt with it ?
I had one shot opportunity with a longbow a few years ago and the top limb hit the side of the blind , causing the bow to jump up . The arrow went a few inches above the bucks back and it was only about 12 yards away .
A good friend of mine built me an awesome 68" longbow , named it " The Wormhole " and signed it "Custom made for Dale .
Seems a shame not to take a deer with it .
BUT IT'S LONG .

That's a very good looking bow. If I wanted to kill a deer with it I would just make sure you set up a spot just for that bow, maybe a blind is not the best route to go but if you want to get it done I'll bet you can make it happen. Good luck

I kinda have the same delima. Bought a used longbow a few weeks back. Love it, but not sure if I will leave my old faithful   PSAX behind. I have a 57 Kodiak that I have taken hunting a few times, would love to kill a deer with it, but just hate leaving the PSAX. Kinda feels like leaving an old friend behind.

I bought a Big Mike's blind that is huge. I was able to shoot a 62'' bow out of it no problem. 68'' may be be a little long but it may be worth looking at one.

Graps, all I hunt with is 68" longbows. I never hunt from a tent blind, because they tend to be too small. Besides I don't like the confinement. Brush blinds are effective, and, for me, a lot more fun.

As for elevated stands, I learned to sit with my left butt cheek kinda hanging off the platform (I shoot sitting down). With a slight outward lean, the bottom limb easily clears my stand. Be sure to trim overhead stuff enough to clear your top limb. Be sure to wear a well fitting safety harness that is in good condition.

You just gotta hunt with that new bow.

That bow is too sweet to sit home during hunting season, besides that you'd be guilty of some kind of discrimination, height or length bias maybe. Can't have that going on, so listen to these guys and go for it!
