Dad and I are driving to unit 73 in Colorado for 35 days... That should take in most of the elk archery season  :)  I didn't draw a mule deer tag but did get a bear, elk, and marmot permit! I'm excited just to get out there but to see dad all worked up is really special.

Rain forest rosies for me. I could see the ocean from where I killed my bull two years ago. Elevation must have been at least 650' above sea level!

Going to start out hunting moose, elk, whitetail, mule deer, bear, cougar and wolves on the Peace River on the 31st...with any luck I will have all the game I need by September 1...I live by myself so that could just be a couple of deer

Leaving Sep. 11 (our 34th anniversary) for combination elk/deer hunt in southeastern Idaho!

I took a friend on a scouting hike into the area i was planning on hunting.  There are just miles of serious Blow Down and probably a Bull Elk pinned somewhere in there too.

There has been quite a bit of deadfall over the years but there were some exponential forces at work in the last year. There were a few elk tracks on the trail in.  I imagine the elk were trying to figure out how to navigate the mess too.
I might have to try something new.
