Aluminum arrows

Hello everyone...I was wondering about aluminum arrows and would like some help. My longbow is 49@28 and I draw to 29.5, was wondering what size shaft and length I would need for this set up. My 29.5 draw is right at the beginning of the shelf at the face of the bow.

And I am shooting 2016s with 125gr points from my 45#@28" recurve, and I draw 29".

I have 2 longbows 50#/28" and shoots 28.5" arrow with 165 up front. Both like 2018 but if I drop to 125 up front they digest 2016 (both with bareshafting)

2016s at your DL may be a little week with points heavier than 125s. 2018s may be too stiff unless you use the larger points and leave the arrow long. My suggestion would be to pick up three of each in xx75 of some flaver and play with length and point weight........Your form and release effects on arrow flight make it difficult to give an exact answer.........

Nobody can rightly tell you a suitable arrow, without first knowing how your shelf is cut. If its cut past center, to center, before center, all will make a difference in the correct choice.

The only problem with that chart is its missing alot of sizes......... there are alot more shafts than just the limited ones in legacy pattern..............my "cheat sheet" that I use for bows from 40 to 80 pounds (thats .733 to .268 deflection) has 22 different sizes from 1816 to 2419............aluminum has many options......

I don't see 1918's listed. I have picked quite a few. Anybody else use them?

I would start with a full length 1916 or 2016, and then let tuning tell me the length that it needed to be. There are too many variables with centercut and point and insert weight for anyone to accurately tell you length over the internet.

Charts wont really get you where you want to be. They are great for getting an idea but you have to see what your bow likes. I have about the same draw as you and my bows like a 2018 with a 175 or a 2117 with a 200. depending on your head weight. I agree with the guy above my post though, there is to many variables to get the right answer.
