Since reaching the mid-60's, I thought that my decrease in accuracy was due to a combination of "old age" factors.  Ya'll know what I mean...failing eyesight, sore shoulders, bow weight too heavy, stiff fingers, etc.    :scared:   I never really knew that much about it but there are several different "kinds" of it.  He gave his copy of the book "Instinctive Archery Insights by Jay Kidwell, Ph.D."  Since reading it and re-reading it, I can say that it has really helped my shooting. It ain't been easy.  I still struggle but I am getting more consistent.  My draw length has also increased by nearly 3/4 of an inch. I highly recommend that you get a copy and read it.     :readit:    But you don't have target panic, do you?  Well, this will keep you from getting it!  Like I said, you're never too old to learn something new!

Jay's book is a great read. It helped me quite a bit.

I short draw as well. I think I got mine from trying to shoot with a bent elbow like Hill or Schultz. It is a struggle to extend that bow arm a little. I have to tell myself to count to 2 before releasing. Actually I do better at long shots because I think more about it.

Totally agree, Jays book is great help!
I gave my copy to Mudd a couple years ago.

If you go to the shooting forum, there is a post that he was responding in.

I am learning more now after shooting (wrong) for about 50 years. I understand a lot of things now.

I like to read anything archery related and will be on the lookout for his book.

Glad it helped you out, and hope you conquer that TP!

I read his book several years ago and liked it too.

That book has changed me totally as in instinctive shooter. I cant believe how well he describes the way the mind works through the hole shooting process. He knows what he is  talking about and his methods are the BEST you can find for becoming a better shot. Its not a book just about target panic its way more than that. So for you  guys that act like your to good to get target panic or don't believe its real you can learn something to. Best 13 dollars I ever spent

I too recently realized I have TP. I would describe my problem as "loss of shot control". Inconsistency as well.

I've been shooting about half a century!

Sounds like a great book.
