I too am a Reconyx fan.  I have had one out pretty much continuously for four years (it is now six years on still going strong) when it had a readout display problem.  I sent it in, they repaired it and updated the software for just the price of shipping one way.  They are manufactured and serviced in Wisconsin.  They will literally take thousands of pictures on one battery charge and never miss capturing a photo.  They are kind of pricey but you do get what you pay for.

I like the IR feature too.  It helps keep dirt bags from stealing a camera that uses a flash in low light.

I sure hated to read this thread. I recently bought a WG model i8b. So far, so good, but I haven't used it much. Maybe I'll get lucky.

I'll throw some more hate towards Wildgame. Terrible products, pushed by annoying, obnoxious owners.

I personally like the Moultries the best. Had good luck with them.

I have 2 wg blade 6. Both are in its 2nd season. One is dependable and the other not so much. Sometimes it takes pictures and sometimes it doesn't. The reason I know it doesn't is because I set out a big&j block out in one week it was half way gone. The camera is pointing straight at it with no pictures and it was on.

One thing with the WGI cameras. If you check your data card with any device other than your computer, the camera will not work until you reformat the card. Says all that somewhere in the directions on my cameras.

Stealth cams are good for about 6 months then everything falls apart including plastic housing and clasps. Dicks just had a trade in sale where they gave you $30 for your old cams if you purchased 12mpg Bushnell thank God I did not throw them out years ago when they fell apart and stopped working!
They also reduced the Bushnell Trophy cam by $30 so I think I made out great 2 Trophy Cams for $70 apiece . Incredible resolution hope they last or worst yet get stolen.

I have a primos now and won't speak to good or bad, not enough time.

Had a covert for ages and it was a great cam. It would miss pics or have blank pics but I don't know many cams that won't.

I'm a Covert fan. Work great and easy on batteries.

You can look at the pictures on any device. It's when you delete the pictures you need to use the trail camera to delete them and not the computer or digital camera. The trail camera automatically reformats the card to the trail camera.

What about the stealth cameras?
I've never owned Wildgame cameras because I've seen enough comments like the ones here to avoid them like the plague.  That said, my experience with Stealth Cam's was about like the Wildgame comments here.  The ones I had (six in all) were absolute battery hogs, if they worked at all, which usually wasn't for long.  Never ever will have a Stealth Cam again.

Just took my last WGI camera out of the woods today. It didn't even take my picture as I approached it head-on to shut it off. It still works but probably won't even put it out again. My buddy has a brand new Browning and even though he hasn't used it a lot, I'm very impressed with the picture quality and shutter speed. Hopefully its dependability will be just as good. If so, I'll be getting one.

I have been using two for the last 3 yrs. Long battery life & lots of pics,- guess I just got lucky with these.   :dunno:
