Why so few bows with green riser wood and limb veneers?

I have seen bows that have blue, pink, purple, orange, and other colors in their wood schemes.  So, I know it's possible to stain bow woods in all kinds of colors.  But being that we are hunters, and so much of our camouflage is in shades of green, why aren't there a lot more bows with green woods?

I'm specifically referring to woods and veneers, NOT green glass.  I am on the list for a custom bow in the near future, and would like to have custom limb veneers with a rich, lighter green stain.  I've seen only a handful of bows on TG with such coloring, and always thought they looked great.  And although they don't have to be green to be camouflaged, it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Here is a green riser bow and the bottom bow is stained tamo ash.  I think the green riser and some green stained tamo ash, curly/quilted maple would look killer.

Archie, you raise a good point. I would rather have the green veneers and green riser than "camo" a bow with paint. I do know BW bows are available on their website with what you want.
Will Cocke 2, that riser is outstanding!

Because Bill Stewart died.  He built a lot of his MultiCam recurves and longbows with green actionwood risers and veneers on the limbs.

Below is a link to Mr. Stewart's still active website.  You can't order anything from his website, but you can view his intriguing designs.

We have been doing quite a number of olive risers lately.  They seem to be pretty popular.  We don't do veneers anymore because of the use of carbon. But we could do an olive paint instead of black on a special order.

It's kinda funny.  I literally left the rmsgear website and came here and saw this.  I was looking at a used bow on there made by Big River Bows that has green action wood riser and limbs.  I was wishing I had the money to get it.  It's 48# too, which is about perfect for my liking.  I really like the looks of fancy exotic woods, but that was a great looking combo for a hunting bow.

I agree, Archie...I think the green risers are some of the best looking there are, and blend in well without camo.

Jump on it Homebru.  A bow like that ain't got no business being stuck on a dealer rack.

Someone posted a green bow a couple of years ago... I think it was a Pronghorn, and it was a gorgeous green.

All those "River" bows are sharp!  And is that other one a Kanati?  That's a looker too.

Great stuff!  Thanks for posting!

Nice looking bows!!

It might be achieved with "dirty"bamboo. It doesn't show well but there is a definite greenish hue or tinge to these limbs.  If you look at the bottom limb in the bottom photo it is more noticeable.  I like the look.0

Archie,
I just saw your last post.  I think you might be referring to Shedrock's Pronghorn.  If you go to Pronghorns web site and look under testimonies or trophies, I think there may be a good photo of that bow.

Haven't heard much from Shedrock lately, now that I think about it.

That sure is a purdy looking Rampart longbow.  The Boo limbs have such nice grain and color.  Makes a guy have a bit of remorse for letting her go.  But I know she is in good hands and will be carried afield and hunted.

MnFn

Absolutely Keith.  It is a special one.  If you have to have it back some day - you know where it is.  I'd hate to part with it tho, so it isn't going anywhere else.
