Ben, just read this all the way through. Outstanding write-up and pictures, and you are raising that family right, the way the Good Lord intended. Thanks for such a heart-warming journey!

One of my favorite threads of all time! I know many people that allow there love for hunting to interfere with God and family. You sir should be a great example to many! Thank you.

Great thread! Man, even spike bucks are BIG in Iowa!
I used to live there but now I guess I'm just used to seeing south Florida mini-deer.

Tarponnut - I was waiting for Ben to reply. You are very perceptive. That indeed was a large Spike for Iowa. It was not our typical "spike"... Ben & I were on a management hunt together and I remember him telling me he shot a spike. When we reached the end of the trail, I remember saying "wow, that's actually a buck" knowing it was an older animal and not the typical "cigarette head" spike you might find roaming around. Though our "spikes" are probably larger than Florida mini-deer, this one is not typical of the spikes we have running around....    :goldtooth:
