Well.....look at that! There's another good man in this world, doing what ought to be done. Nothing....I mean NOTHING in this world, takes priority over the Wife and children. What you done here, anymore these days, seems to be special.  But the sad reality is ,at one time, men were like you with that kind of right attitude and perspective, as a norm. Glad to see itfrom you, but really everyone else should be of the same mind, without it all seeming as a special good deed. It should be a mans whole and normal way of life. I believe thats how our Creator designed it. Again,  glad you seen it before it was too late. Stick to your guns.

You can't go wrong spending time with your family!!! They are the greatest gift      enjoy every minute.

Absolutely the right choice.  Good for you to make this call.  Wish more dads/husbands were as wise.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

You have made the right choice.

Sounds to me as though you have your priorities lined up in the right order. Unless you are a full-time knife maker, it has to remain fun too.

For what it's worth, I'll pass along a couple of ideas that were passed on to me earlier. I had a full-time knifemaker criticize me for selling knives too cheaply. I explained it was just a hobby for me and he said "Yeah, but you're taking business away from me and I need it to live". Another knifemaker nearby overheard the conversation and had a totally different take on the subject. He told me "Go ahead and take all the orders you want at as low a price as you want. Presently, you'll find yourself swamped with orders you can't fill and they will come back to me".

Only you can determine what's important to you, but it seems to me you have your priorities straight!
